Ralph Williams Memorial Speculative Fiction Contest to award $5,000 to best entry
The Alaska Writers Guild welcomes entries for the first Ralph Williams Prize for Speculative Fiction, a contest in memory of Alaska science fiction writer Ralph Williams. The Grand Prize is $5,000.
The Ralph Williams Prize for Speculative Fiction is offered in honor of a great Alaskan. Ralph Williams -- a federal employee, carpenter, fisherman, hunter, writer and family man -- contributed in his short life to the development of science fiction as a respected genre, although his own development as a writer was cut unexpectedly short. It is hoped that through this prize his commitment to quality writing, intelligent plots and meaningful themes will continue to flourish through other hands.
For more information, see the guidelines for the Ralph Williams Prize for Speculative Fiction, or use the links at left to download the submission information.
